By participating in The R0 Prayer Flag Project, you can triple your impact in support of local arts:

  1. Submit a “prayer flag” art piece to Dr. Dexter by end-of-day on November 6th.
  2. Donate $10 or more to Lane Arts Council using the button above.
  3. Your donation to Lane Arts Council will be matched by Dr. Dexter (up to a total of $1,000).
  4. Your flag will be displayed in an outdoor community pop-up at Oregon Art Supply on Friday, November 13th, 5-8pm.
  5. You may opt-in for your flag to be sold, with proceeds donated to Lane Arts Council.
  6. Encourage friends and family to participate too!

"Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetan people believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all-pervading space. Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all. The prayers of a flag become a permanent part of the universe as the images fade from exposure to the elements. Just as life moves on and is replaced by new life, Tibetans renew their hopes for the world by continually mounting new flags alongside the old." - Dr. Dexter

"The term R0, referred to as R-Naught, represents the number of new infections estimated to stem from a single case. In other words, if R0 is 2.5, then one person is expected to infect, on average, 2.5 others. The purpose of this program is to “positively” infect each other with hope, love compassion and empathy, as well as every other positive emotion that is out there. The R-Naught for this project is 100. I plan to identify and positively infect 100 people in the community to participate in the project." - Dr. Dexter

All donations to Lane Arts Council through the R0 Prayer Flag Project will be designated for Lane Arts Council's Artist Support programs.
