The Power of the Arts!
Teachers continually share with us that they notice students are more engaged, excited, and relaxed when they have art in class. Art makes school more fun!
When Lane Arts Council moved our arts education programs online in the spring, teachers saw that arts engagement increased student attendance and participation on days that a teaching artist was part of remote instruction.
Art is a powerful way to help us cope during challenging times. It provides solace and allows us to be present with our thoughts and feelings. It provides an important outlet to relieve stress, and improves mental health and wellness. It builds confidence and supports emotional stability, especially for young people.
It’s essential for students to make art even when school buildings are closed. This year, in response to the current needs of schools, teachers, and families, we are providing livestream arts education that bridges digital instruction with physical movement and hands-on activities.
Schools and teachers request our programs because they understand the impact of the arts in daily learning, classroom engagement, and skills development.
Your donation ensures all young people in Lane County can benefit from the powerful impact of the arts, in whatever way they learn this year.
Please consider supporting arts education by making a gift to Lane Arts Council. Right now, art and creativity are more important than ever. The arts help us through these hard times and will nourish us in a post-pandemic world.
